Policy Analyst
Raise Our Voice Australia is a non-partisan social enterprise mobilising young women and gender-diverse people to transform policy and politics.
Policy Analysts will work with the Head of Social Media to make policy and legislation accessible to young people, and draft policy submissions. In doing so, they support young women and gender-diverse people to mobilise and advocate for outcomes which will have a positive impact on their future.
We particularly welcome applications from people of colour, people who identify as First Nations, those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and persons with a disability.
A typical day might look like:
Researching public policies currently being considered or introduced at a local, state or federal level
Breaking down the policy into accessible, every day language, including any decision points for legislators and policy makers, and any actions which the community can take to drive outcomes
Working with the Head of Social Media and Heads of Community to communicate the policy, including on social media channels, on the website and in newsletters
Working with the Heads of Community to conduct and write policy submissions

What we are looking for:
Someone who is passionate about gender equity and/ or public decision making
Excellent communication skills
Previous experience understanding and analysing policies
Previous experience communicating policy to non-tertiary audiences desirable, but not a prerequisite
Previous experience running consultations desirable, but not a prerequisite

Time commitment: 3 hours a week | voluntary
Location: online, anywhere in Australia
