Meet the ROVA team

Raise Our Voice Australia (ROVA) is committed to working with young women and gender-diverse people, supporting them to represent their interests and shape their future through participation in politics and public policy-making. To do this, ROVA helps young women and gender-diverse people to better understand public decision making, connects them with passionate peers and key decision-makers through training, campaigns, research and community building.

These activities support our community to be active agents of change in advocating for their needs and shaping their future to ensure an equitable democracy in which no one is left behind. The interests and passions of young people are at the heart of our work, and we are committed to ongoing learning.

Our team is united under these five core values:

Inclusivity

Equity

Individuals may require different resourcing to reach the same outcomes. We are committed to providing this through our programs.

Inclusivity

Non-partisan

Young women and gender-diverse people are systematically excluded from politics and policy, no matter who or what they support.

We need to work across the political spectrum to create a meaningful shift

Inclusivity

Justice

Moving past fairness, we recognise that justice is acting on principles of equity. There can be no equity nor equality without centring justice.

We reflect our community, the interests and passions of young people are at the heart of our work.

Inclusivity

Intersectionality

Every person’s experience of the world is unique, guided by their individual identities and context.

We commit to recognising the complexity of individual experiences, and to centre this in our understanding of change-making.

Inclusivity

Ongoing Learning

We are committed to listening to our community, regularly reflecting on best practices and when we know better, we do better.
